WAGE RANGE: $10.30 - $25.00

GENERAL FUNCTIONS
Under the direction and guidance of the Program Director, consistent with the YMCA mission and its core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, Officials will be responsible for the positive interpretation and enforcement of facility policies, rules and guidelines to YMCA members, guests, and participants. They will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and enforcement of all applicable rules. Officials will work toward providing a program to foster children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in all Youth Sports activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare fields/courts prior to games, including any set up.
  • Monitor and regulate games/matches to ensure conformance with rules and regulations of the sport, as well as any rules specific to Ozarks Regional YMCA.
  • Take initiative to greet and assist all members, potential members, program participants and volunteers in a courteous, professional and friendly manner. Be enthusiastic towards members by learning their names and expressing an interest in their YMCA activities.
  • Stop play when necessary, and explain violations consistently and fairly.
  • Know, demonstrate and interpret YMCA philosophy to players, parents, and coaches.
  • Report injuries to Program Director, follows safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well with adults and children of all ages as well as parents and coaches.
  • Works closely with the Program Director to address concerns of staff and/or members/participants.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to control all aspects of the game that you are officiating.
  • Possess the ability to work with varying ages and to manage large groups.
  • Attends and participates in other YMCA program activities as needed, staff meetings, and trainings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as program needs arise.
  • Submit records and scores to supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Candidate must be great with kids, parents, and have a friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Passionate about kids and youth sports.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Fun, energetic and enthusiastic.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED within 30 days of hire.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be in reasonable good physical condition and be able to work extended periods of time on their feet.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including: walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • The physical ability to supervise, instruct and lead groups of children relating to sports.

  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
