Lighthouse Worship Center is a longstanding rural church located in Southern West Virginia. The congregation is enthusiastic and supportive of growth within the Church and Community. The Church campus consists of a multi-purpose Sanctuary as well as an adjoining Activity Center and Classroom area.

STATUS: Part-time, Salaried
HOURS: Approximately 20 hours per week to include all day Sunday and Wednesday evening plus planning and prep time as required. (Hours are flexible except for Sunday and Wednesday evening)
SALARY: Negotiable MATERIALS AND ACTIVITIES BUDGET: Up to $7,500/year
General Purpose of Position:
To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a Youth Church service and a Youth Ministry Program while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.
Organizational Relationship and Supervision:
The youth minister will consult with Senior Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance and report to the Elder Team for budget and activity approvals. The Youth Ministry Team, along with the Senior Pastor, will provide a bi-annual evaluation of the Youth Minister’s performance.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Plan, develop, and implement curriculum for a 45-minute Youth Church Service that will be held in conjunction with normal Sunday School service from 9:45-10:30 am each Sunday
· Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry to include Jr. and Sr. High students (ages 11-14 and 15-18 respectively) in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. Youth programs will be administered each Wednesday evening. Youth Minister will help determine specific time and program structure.
· Recruit and train volunteers to support Youth Ministry to ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios
· Keep records of youth participation and manage the youth ministry budget
· Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using all available resources (Facebook, email, website, bulletin boards, etc.)
Personal Qualifications:
· Committed Christian active in a lifestyle of caring and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ
· Ability to invest in and affiliate with our congregation
· Faithful in worship and personal relationship with Jesus Christ
· Student or graduate of a school of ministry or equivalent
· Self-motivated and committed to professional church ministry
· Desire and ability to work as a member of an interdependent professional team
· Supportive of the philosophy of ministry of the congregation and staff
· Ability to relate to youth and gifted in Youth Ministry and Education
· Effective communicator and organizer who can recruit and delegate
· Knowledge of Youth Ministry and Christian Education concepts and methods
· Willing to learn and receive additional training to increase ministerial competence
