Job Title: X-Ray Aide/Runner/File Clerk
Reports To: Diagnostic Imaging Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The X-Ray Runner/Aide performs routine technical support activities in the Radiology Department. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, knowledge and understanding of patient care and effectively respond to changing patient needs by making decisions based on ethical principles and adhering to our high standard of excellence.
Essential Job Functions:
- Escort and transport patients to and from imaging rooms
- Import outside imaging into the PACS system
- Communicate with X-Ray Techs, staff members and patients
- Assist in preparing, cleaning, stocking, and maintaining X-Ray rooms, examining rooms, and patient dressing areas
- Assist in setting up equipment
- Additional duties as assigned by the Manager to meet department needs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff, patients and physicians
- Computer skills proficiency in EHR, Microsoft word and outlook
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a high-volume patient base clinic
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be flexible with work hours
- Medical experience and knowledge of medical terminology
- Organizational skills
- Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.
