Job description
Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level in the department and with mobile x-ray unit in all areas of the hospital. Mammography Technologist performs mammographic procedures at a technical level in the department. Ultrasound Technologist performs all Ultrasound and Doppler (vascular studies) at a technical level. Provides technical advice to the Director. Performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level in the department and with mobile unit in all areas of the hospital. Computed Tomography Technologist performs Computed Tomography procedures at a technical level in the department. MRI Technologist performs all MRI procedures at a technical level in the department.
All technologists function under the supervision of the Director of Medical Imaging.
PET/CT Technologist performs PET/CT procedures of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with standard of practice and protocols of PCMH Radiologists.
Education
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Associates Degree in applied sciences preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Ultrasound Technologist: Graduate of an AMA approved school in Ultrasound or have (get) on the job training with clinical experience, and be registered or registry eligible within one year of training.
Radiologic Technologist: Must be ARRT Registered or be registry eligible.
Mammography Technologist: Must either be a registered mammography technologist or register within the first year of beginning mammography.
MRI Technologist: Must be MRI registered with ARRT or have (get) on the job training with clinical experience, and be registered or registry eligible within one year of training.
Must be current in CPR. Must provide copies of licensure/certification for personnel records including renewals.
