Westminster Presbyterian Church (ECO) (Aurora, IL) - Senior Pastor

The Big Picture

Westminster Presbyterian Church (wpc10.org) is seeking a Senior Pastor to preach the Word of God, lead the church in fulfilling our commitment to reach the community, and equip the congregation for the work of ministry.

The Church

We have about 120 covenant partners with a median age of 70 years. Our church staff consists of two full time positions (pastor and music/worship director), and six part time staff members. Part time staff positions include pastoral care, technical director, secretary/ receptionist, accountant, custodian, and youth ministry. Our Session consists of nine elders and the senior pastor who serves as moderator. We have thirteen deacon positions who help in serving the needs of the congregation and community. Our attendance pre-pandemic was ninety people. Our in-person attendance the past few months is about fifty-five to sixty people. During the pandemic we have added livestream services via Facebook and YouTube. We continue to make available live streams for those who prefer at-home viewing.

The Candidate

Believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as the only way to eternal life. Holds the Bible as the inspired word of God. Exhibits Christlike characteristics such as humility, servant leadership, compassion, and integrity. Actively seeks to make new disciples and grow existing disciples. Seeks to be involved with other Pastors in the area and promote Christian community involvement.

The Qualifications

-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary.

-Experience as a Pastor or Associate Pastor with significant preaching and leadership responsibilities.

-Ordained by ECO or a reformed denomination, and willing to be ordained by ECO.

-Concurrence with ECO’s tenets and Confessions.
