The Welding Lab Assistant has the responsibility for supporting instruction in the area to which he or she is assigned.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience according to ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule. $25.00 per hour based on experience; up to 19 hours per week.
At a minimum, the major responsibilities of the Welding Lab Assistant shall include:
- Substituting in case of departmental instructor absence.
- Assisting assigned departmental instructors and students in laboratory exercises and hands-on training techniques.
- Supervising and assisting assigned students on any appointed projects and repairs and ensuring safe conduct while students are performing said tasks.
- Responsibility for general maintenance of assigned laboratory trainers and equipment in the respective department.
- Grading, filing, copying, and other clerical duties.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned by the President, Director of Instructional Services/Career Technical Education Instructor, or Career Technical Division Chairperson.
- An earned diploma or certificate in Welding from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated ability to properly and safely operate welding training equipment.
- Ability to work well with others and able to work under pressure.
