ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for using hand welding, flame cutting, hand soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components
• May climb ladders or work on scaffolds to assemble or disassemble structures
• May connect hoses from torch to tanks of oxygen, acetylene and/or fuel gas and turn valves to release mixture
• May dismantle metal assemblies or cut scrap metal, using thermal-cutting equipment such as flame-cutting or plasma-arc equipment
• Will examine work piece for defects and measure work pieces with straightedge or template to ensure conformance with specifications
• Fill cavities or corrects malformation in lead parts and hammers out bulges and bends in metal work pieces

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Bilingual preferred
• AWS Certification preferred
• Excellent attendance

• Strong and consistent attention to detail
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
• Team oriented
• Basic computer skills are required
• Must be able to pass required welding certification test in the following AWS material sections: D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, and D9.1.
• Previous experience and/or certifications preferred
• Must understand AWS welding symbols
• Must be able to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines
• Familiar with Mig or Tig weld steel, stainless, and aluminum
• Willing to:o Learn and rotate within various weld areas

o Wear PPE respirators for extended amount of time

o Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)

o Develop a working knowledge of company’s systems (example: AS/400)

• Able to:

o Read and comprehend blueprints including weld specifications at a high level

o Work overtime on short notice
