The Web Developer is responsible for maintaining and providing technical support for the Maintenance and Asset Visibility System (MAVIS) frontend and backend including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies. It is extremely important to the company that on-line processing database systems offer the highest reliability and performance possible. The Web Developer is challenged to work with operations to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives. The Web Developer provides and designs tools to assist in the management of the database and transaction processing environment. Works to provide a working model of our transaction processing environment for capacity assessment and planning. Responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites, from layout to function. Strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.

• Develops a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary.
• Develops a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas.
• Development and enhancement of production applications including working with applications, technical support and operations during the design, development and implementation of applications.
• Work with IT or alone to build the logical database area and provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process.
• Work with vendors in evaluating and implementing new technologies.
• Experience in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units.
• The position requires constant communication with colleagues.
• Deep functional knowledge or hands on design experience with Web Services is needed to be successful in this position.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred.
• Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a Software or Web Developer operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices or BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
• 3-5 years MySQL Server experience.
• Experience with data management and data processing flow-charting techniques.
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into application designs and systems requirements
• Have experience with a variety of internet technologies, techniques and tools and object-oriented languages to create software and web application elements such as interface features.
