Warehouse Associate
We are seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our Norwescap Food Bank team. The

About Norwescap Food Bank: Each year, the Norwescap Food Bank distributes the equivalent of approximately 1.7 million meals through a network of more than 100 pantries, soup kitchens, on-site feeding programs, childcare centers, senior centers, and programs for the disabled in Warren, Hunterdon, and Sussex counties. We also operate a thrift store in Phillipsburg, and support children and youth in our communities through our Backpack and Summer Feeding programs.

Responsibilities:

• Move in-bound and out-bound food product to appropriate staging or storage areas, in accordance with documented safety procedures.
• Assist in the off-loading of inbound product, moving to the appropriate staging and storage areas. Food items may be government commodities, donated or purchased product.
• Select orders accurately and timely by locating and moving food product to the load area for pick up by our agency network partners. Greet and assist agency partners.
• Handle associated paperwork, with strong attention to inventory controls, accuracy, and detail.
• Perform daily consolidation of product when required to assure storage space and overall warehouse organization.
• Accompany drivers as needed for large deliveries and pick-ups.
• Drive company van for pick up of donations and smaller deliveries.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year experience working in a warehouse and distribution setting preferred.
• Driver’s license required.
• Strong communication and service orientation skills with ability to provide excellent customer service to our agency partners.
• Strong work ethic with an orientation toward action, innovation, and process improvement.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the team.
• Passion, enthusiasm and creativity toward Norwescap Food Bank’s vision and mission

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel and reach above your shoulders.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment in extreme temperatures.

Compensation

• This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday – Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm and Friday 9am to 3pm.
• Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)
