ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Arcaea is a biology-first beauty company building a new ingredient toolset for the beauty and personal care industry. We are creating pioneering ingredients, products, and stories accessible uniquely through biology.

OVERVIEW:

This role will be responsible for leading and shaping the ingredients business at Arcaea. Our goal is to make biology the most desired technology in the products we use and this person will be critical to driving adoption so that our ingredients show up in as many trusted products as possible.

They will work in close partnership with leaders across the company and report to the CEO. This individual will set the strategic roadmap for how we build a highly valuable ingredient business along with a business plan for execution. They will evaluate current and future areas of opportunity, enabling prioritization of early commercial candidates resulting from technical platforms and translating them to high value ingredients for the industry.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong business acumen mixed with a diplomatic approach that keeps both internal and external partners in sync, bought in, and effectively driving the business forward together.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Holistic, internal strategist that can lead and shape the bold commercial vision of the company set to catalyze a massive shift across the industry to new materials.
  • Develop thoughtfully designed, synergistic business plans for company products in our B2B channel in a highly coordinated and resonant way.
  • Set and optimize a go-to-market process with systems and resources in place for forecasting, reporting, and execution.
  • Rigorously focused on creating value and connection to partners through our ingredients and brands to earn us iconic brand reputation (rather than dictating our brand to partners).
  • Build and lead a team to support B2B commercial activities and execute on Arcaea’s vision.
  • Use knowledge of industry dynamics to develop ongoing methods of “industry listening” to assess activity and customer sentiment to connect dots to inform company strategy and support a creative feedback loop to product innovation.
  • Develop plans and successfully launch new active ingredients, and follow-up on these launches with continued promotion and business plans.
  • Develop successful marketing communication plans to promote both innovative new products and reinforce the company’s trusted brand image and unique position in the marketplace.
  • Draft early suggestions on commercial plans, concept development, execution strategy and resources needed to support.
  • Focus on creating value to customers through our ingredients to earn us a trusted brand reputation.
  • Perform economic analysis of potential ingredients and use this data to create ideas around positioning and go-to-market strategy
  • Develop budget, execution and KPIs for all B2B initiatives
  • Sets an example around the power of curiosity and compassion. Maintain relentless focus on the vision of what is possible.
  • Serves as an internal and external thought leader on commercial strategy and industry dynamics and seeks to educate and engage team members on this as well to propagate a sense of pride and excitement.


QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • Track record of launching active ingredients
  • Experience in building out and leading B2B strategy
  • Experience with innovative communications campaign development
  • Strong leadership skills and a history of building and running successful teams
  • Obsession with products, innovation, marketing, and delivering a best-in-class consumer experience
  • Uses a good mix of data, intuition, and creativity to drive business decisions with a trend-hunting and growth mindset
  • Relevant technical background and knowledge of key global regulatory topics is a plus
  • Must be based in the US
