This position is responsible for assisting residents with developing vocational or employment skills that will enhance their marketability in obtaining and maintaining ongoing employment. It also provides appropriate referrals and follow-ups for vocational services.

Responsibilities:

• Helps residents identify their personal employment goals and objectives.
• Completes a vocational assessment with each resident and develops a corresponding vocational plan.
• Identifies residents’ employment-related experience as well as associated capacities and limitations.
• Provides case management of vocational skills for assigned residents.
• Meets with residents on a regular basis to monitor progress and revises individual vocational plans as they are needed.
• Ensures residents’ transportation needs are met for keeping appointments.
• Monitors and assists residents with planning activities, including recreational activities that support their vocational, educational, or employment goals.
• Develops individual vocational/educational plans that are within each individual resident’s capacity to achieve.
• Coordinates services and maintains regular ongoing consultations with schools, vocational agencies, employers, etc.
• Supports and encourages resident participation in educational/vocational programs.
• Assists residents with job readiness skills and resource documentation (e.g. applications, financial aid, essays, resumes etc.).
• Collaborates and effectively communicates with Caz Recovery program staff to support and integrate vocational, educational, or employment planning with treatment plans and clinical interventions.

• Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field and a minimum of 6 months’ human service experience. Field placement as an intern may be applied to the required human service experience. Or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field and a minimum of one year human services experience. Field placement as an intern may be applied to required human service experience. Or
• Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a related field and two years’ human services experience. Field placement as an intern may be applied to required human service experience.
• Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license.
