Summary: Responsible for all slot operations staff, impressed funds and gaming regulatory compliance. Understands the philosophy of the organization as set down by the administrators and works effectively within. Administers department policies and evaluates standards of performance. Maintains clear and open communications upward, downward and laterally. Evaluates operating procedures, recommends changes and implements approved changes. Orientates, trains, counsels, disciplines, evaluates and recommends for termination department staff. Act in relation to employees, guests and/or general public in a manner consistent with the best interest of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Eight (8) years experience in a slot department setting.
- Five (5) years supervisory experience required.
- Must have thorough understanding of the Silver Reef Gaming Commission pertaining to slot operations.
- The ability to understand and comply with all departmental and company rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Demonstrate the ability to counsel and develop subordinates in a fair, equal and favorable work environment.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and two-way radio.
- Computer experience in Windows 2000, Windows NT to CDS Systems Interface.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug-test.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Silver Reef Gaming License.
Licensing Requirements:
- Class III Gaming License
Essential Job Functions:
- Organize and coordinate the activities of slot operations staff.
- Oversee the departmental function on the assigned shift.
- Administer department policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the Silver Reef Casino internal controls.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the Silver Reef Gaming Commission.
- Evaluate standards of performance of subordinates.
- Maintain clear an open communications upward, downward and laterally.
- Evaluate operational procedures; recommend changes and implement-approved changes. Hire, train, counsel, discipline, and evaluate staff.
- Make recommendations for termination that, after coaching and discipline still continues to perform at levels below acceptable levels with the Silver Reef Casino.
- Maintain required key controls.
- Perform job functions of subordinates as necessary.
- Authorize jackpots and fills on the casino floor.
- Prepare daily or weekly schedules; solicit recommendations for changes and implement-approved changes.
- Prepare slot management reports as assigned form the CDS slot management system.
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of pertinent casino data and guests.
- Be knowledgeable about the Silver Reef Casino’s services, features, attractions, promotions and special events to respond accurately to guest/team member’ inquiries.
- Be familiar with the CDS slot management system.
- Be completely knowledgeable about the basic functions of slot machines.
- Circulate throughout the casino; monitor the level of business activity and staffing requirements. Adjust slot staff as necessary.
- Count down and secure change banks when required.
- Notify Silver Reef Gaming Commission with gaming disputes over $500.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to access all areas of the property with some instances in a rapid manner.
- Must be able to speak and write fluently in the English language.
- Requires the ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure when dealing with difficult situations and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and to frequently bend, reach and kneel.
- Maintain a professional, well-groomed appearance, adhering to the Silver Casino appearance standards.
- Requires normal vision and hearing range.
- Requires manual dexterity to use a personal computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift multiple fills, coin bags, cans of coins and carry them to various locations throughout the Casino.
- Must be able to manually open and close a slot machine door with multiple latches that turn as the door is lifted to open.
- Regular, predictable attendance required.
- Must have the manual dexterity to handle small hand tools.
Working conditions:
- Work is performed in an office setting and on the casino floor in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky and/or poorly lighted.
