The Doe Fund is a leading New York City non-profit organization that operates the enormously visible Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program, whose participants clean over 150 miles of streets and sidewalks every day. We are seeking a Vice President of Workforce Development to provide oversight of our comprehensive career development services, educational programming, occupational training, and services to graduates of RWA. The person in this role will provide supervision to six managers and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Workforce Development Department. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Programs, the VP of Workforce Development exercises broad latitude for decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides overall leadership for the Education and Training, Career Development, and Graduate Services Departments to include direct supervision of six managers.
- Provides management oversight of all curriculum planning, program development, and implementation, program review, supervision and leadership to staff within the Workforce Development team.
- Serves as the organization’s chief liaison with external workforce development entities.
- Identifies and secures appropriate employer and training partnerships to support continuing development of relevant sector-based training for the target population.
- Provides leadership in continuous improvement for the Workforce Development department and assessment of institutional effectiveness measures within the department.
- Identifies and secures appropriate resources to support the professional development of workforce development staff.
- Generate and provide reports to supervisor and other members of the executive team.
- Works collaboratively with other senior leaders and the Workforce Development team to align workforce and training programs with workplace and industry needs.
- Responsible for communicating with the Development department and Finance in regards to budget management and grant proposals.
- Responsible for budget development and management. Prepares, monitors, controls, and ensures spending within the budget allocation. Develops cost estimates for future department needs.
- Manages data collection and metric tracking for the Workforce Development Department
*QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required, Masters preferred
- At least 7 years of not-for-profit experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Experience in Workforce Development and/or Education preferred
- Excellent writing skills
- Adept at public speaking
- Commitment to The Doe Fund mission
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft-based programs: email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
