House of Cheatham is currently searching for a Vice President of Brand Management and Marketing to join our team. This person will lead, develop, scale, our brands while working collaboratively with all functions as a strategic business, brand and team leader, culture builder, and growth driver.

House of Cheatham is home to brands such as Aunt Jackie’s Curls & Coils, Hollywood Beauty, and Originals by Africa’s Best, House of Cheatham which are sold in the United States and globally. Our products are sold through mass market retail chain, drug and grocery stores including Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Family Dollar, Kroger, Dollar General, CVS, Kmart, Sally Beauty Supply, and available through most online eCommerce sites – Amazon.com, Walmart.com, etc. Our products are also found in most neighborhood beauty supply stores, nationwide.

What you will do!

The VP Brand Management & Marketing is responsible for leading and managing consumer brands in the multi-cultural hair care market. Must be able to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with an emphasis on collective, collaborative teamwork as well as driving execution for all brand led activities.

  • Brand plan development - develops brand plans that achieve or exceed company targets. This will include, but is not limited to, brand positioning, consumer education, program/promotions, sales support, and market research. Must be able to work collaboratively with vendors and internal resources to drive superior market results, aligning activities with the Sales organization.
  • Develops and executes integrated brand communications plan across all platforms (digital multi-media, influencers, marketing/sales materials, trade shows, education, promotions)
  • Program management and execution - manages the day-to-day logistics of the brand programs. Owns timeline management, budget, and program analysis. Determines and measures consumer and trade activation and coordinates timetables with operations. Drives prioritization of marketing budget.
  • New product development – utilizes influencer and consumer-driven insights to drive short and long-term growth of the brands. Translates insights into profitable product innovations. Develops selling proposition and sufficient launch support plans to retail.
  • Market analysis - provides consumption-based data analysis for the brand. Provides insight and support to the enterprise to better understand market trends and dynamics. Also, identifies opportunities in markets where there are unmet needs.
  • Sales & Merchandising support – provides the sales organization with presentation materials and promotional programs for retailer presentations using category management best practices. Develops strong branding/positioning/selling tools for distributor shows/industry shows
  • Social Media/Influencer management – leads the social media effort and manages a range of influencers to help drive brand consumption. Activity is coordinated through outside support agency
  • Teamwork – Ability to work as a motivational, collaborative, inspirational, and confident servant leader within the organization, being the voice of the consumer to deliver the targets and priorities
Requirements:


Education:
Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Marketing or equivalent work experience.

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of related CPG brand management experience; working knowledge of HBA/OTC distribution and channels. Consumer multi-cultural/textured hair care brand/business building and NPD successes.

  • Strong communication and influence skills – clear, concise, and persuasive in style. Leads thinking of all external marketing and business partners associated with brand plans. Ability to build strong relationships with vendors and internal team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build brands and apply current digital, social, and experiential marketing best practices
  • E-commerce, omni-channel mass retail, and OTC industry specialty distributor channels knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills – Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to respond to market opportunities and ability to adjust priorities, accordingly.
  • Energized by an entrepreneurial environment – not afraid to do things themselves to get things done. Self-reliant, proactive, decisive and has a pioneering spirit. Takes initiative and follows-through on commitments to achieve results.
