Job Description:

The Hospital Manager is responsible for the efficient flow of requests and information between NVA Compassion First Shared Services, hospital staff, and the Hospital Director. The Hospital Manager will be a positive presence on the operational floor and act as the main facilitator of strategic initiatives for AEC and central point of communication for Shared Services and the Hospital Director.

Essential job functions:

  • Be a visible leader on the floor, providing the team with 24/7 access as required.
  • Provide and promote a high-level of patient and client care by AEC staff members.
  • Promote learning and skill advancement for all staff members.
  • Meet regularly with the staff and provide to Hospital Director actionable plans for resolution of presented issues where needed. Follow plan through completion and provide updates within a reasonable cadence to Hospital Director.
  • Manage all employee relations for the hospital. When presented with concerns by employees, use judgment to determine the severity of concerns, investigate to gain data and full insight, engage Shared Services HR and Hospital Director with appropriate documentation for further evaluation of corrective actions. Conduct corrective action meetings as assigned.
  • Coordinate action plans for operation of services for disaster recovery events (weather related, infrastructure disruptions, etc.)
  • Report all maintenance operations of the facility, equipment, and grounds to the facility manager.
  • Direct the daily operations of the Custodial Services Department.
  • Track all facilities and equipment repair requests and activities, reporting to leadership regularly.
  • Assist Hospital Director in implementing, evaluating, and managing general operation, policies, and procedures, in accordance with the standards and philosophy set by the organization.
  • Assists the Hospital Director in developing strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • CVT / LVT or equivalent experience required.
  • Extensive experience within the Veterinary field preferred.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with an environment of changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and effectively present ideas and concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with personnel on all levels throughout the organization.

  • Must be willing to irregular hours.
  • This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach frequently during a minimum 8-hour day.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records; recognize people and understand written directions.
  • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person, and over the telephone.
  • Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing office equipment such as facsimile machines, copiers and computer keyboards.
