Job description
The Utility Team Leader will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the utility equipment necessary for process cooling, process heating, utility compressed gas conditioning & distribution, power supply & distribution, and other equipment under the utility group purview. The Utility Department Team Leader will provide daily job priority for managing utility operating contractor personnel. He/she will be expected to plan work, coordinate with contractors, and maintain reliable utility supply operations to maximize manufacturing productivity. In addition, the Team Leader will be accountable for ensuring daily operational inspections and adjustments are completed. Close monitoring and familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates SAP work notifications, SAP Work Orders, complete repairs, and service equipment under utility department responsibility. In addition, recommend necessary material and labor job requirements, identify tools and equipment requirements, and develops job instructions and job materials list for utility operators to perform their duties.
- Assists PM team during service jobs, when necessary.
- Recommend MRP stock items & level to Utility Maintenance Planner.
- Participate in the planning and scheduling for shutdowns with utility engineering, management, production, maintenance, other site services, and EHS.
- Keeps utility engineering & management informed of abnormal or critical situations and provides recommendations and/or areas for improvements.
- Submit timely Shift Handover Report.
- Reviews previous Shift Handover Report.
- Maintains essential records and files associated with operations & regulations, for example:
- Natural Gas Log
- Water Treatment & Operational Log Reports
- Tuning Reports
- Refrigerant Log Reports
- Heat Transfer Fluid
- Quality Inspections
- Volume Additions by Utility Area
- Volume Removal by Utility Area (with waste manifest where required)
- SPCC
- Secondary Containment Inspection
- Oil/Fuel Tank Integrity
- Power Distribution
- Transformer Inspection
- IR Reports
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) Reports
- Familiar with CMMS & ability to develop SAP skills.
- Prepares Safe Work Permits and coordinates with Production & EHS to ensure compliance with all company safety rules and regulations, as well as any specific requirements in the area for which work is to be performed.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance or production in a manufacturing environment.
- Possesses knowledge of methods and techniques used in the operation, repair, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

- Technically competent with knowledge of steam system supply, distribution, condensate return, and associated boiler/cooling tower water treatment systems.

- Organized with the ability to support multiple concurrent jobs & ability to set reasonable deadlines.
- Accountable, confident, highly motivated, willing to learn, and able to have productive discussions with the best path forward for the group as a priority.
