On the Customer Experience Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech, we provide technology to power shopping journeys that help hundreds of millions of customers live better - be it busy families getting groceries easily, new parents welcoming a new baby, organizing a new home or anyone planning a fun party. We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Walmart Pay Team. As a senior manager of WalmartPay team you will be responsible for leading a team of highly capable managers and engineers working on full stack technologies. The team is engaged in design, development, and delivery of next-generation mobile payment processing experiences for our customers.

You are a seasoned people leader as well as a technology leader who is driven by customer impact and engineering excellence. You are a skillful communicator that can challenge not only Engineers, but also Business teams to think outside the box.

In this role, you will

• Directly manage multiple engineering teams.
• Lead end-to-end Business and Engineering initiatives.
• Work closely with leadership to drive the vision and strategy for multiple groups of talented engineers.
• Drive technical architecture, best practices, performance, developer productivity, and operational excellence.
• Hire and coach talent through their career growth.
• Build an open, positive, and high-performance culture while ensuring happiness and work-life balance of your team(s).
• Utilize your knowledge, experience, and engineering acumen to solve problems at scale and generate high customer impact.

Minimum Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in various elements of full-stack software development - frontend, backend, data and insights and hands-on coding experience in the past.
• 4+ years of people leadership experience in building and leading engineering teams.
• Technical leadership experience in design, implementation, and support of core front end, orchestration, and database services that are highly reliable, flexible, and scalable.
• Development experience on both backend and mobile platforms.
• Proven ability to earn respect, trust, and influence from people you work with and to mentor top technical talent.
• Strong customer focus and obsession with quality.
• BS/MS/PhD in information technology, computer science or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of mobile and node backend technologies.
• Experience in transactional systems highly desirable
• Experience building restful APIs in frameworks like node.js is a plus.
