Inter-Con is searching for an Undercover Surveillance Specialist to join our Client’s specialized physical security program in the Kirkland, WA area. Reporting to a Security Operations Supervisor, you will support security operations by positively identifying, tracking, documenting, and escalating suspicious or concerning activities developing on Client property. The right Agent is an expert in discrete observation techniques, security, and is capable of acting decisively in high-stress situations. This is a On Call/Open Availability position as needed to fill in open posts on schedule

Must be willing to work weekdays and weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with a Team of professionals to conduct plain clothes observations as well as assessment and engagement functions
  • Analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Observe, report, and/or intervene as appropriate regarding any situation that may compromise the safety and security of the client’s people, assets and/or reputation.
  • Staff assigned security posts.
  • Clearly outline Team objectives and continuously refine their approach to accomplishing them.
  • Collaborate with Client Operations Managers, Campus Security Supervisors, and other specialized physical security teams to develop innovative strategies that uphold a positive and open work environment.
  • Ensure the operational efficiency, posture, and the approach of your team is aligned with the departments and Client’s expectations.
  • Collaborate with Client Security Managers/Supervisors and supporting functions like emergency services: Fire, Police, EMS etc.).
  • Work with Client Security Managers/Supervisors and others across the organization to develop and implement security standards, policies and response practices to make continual improvements and increase the effectiveness of the security program.
  • Support a team of discreet observation professionals responding to emergencies, supporting planned and unplanned security operations, including events and special activities; travel may be required within Region.
  • Monitor external developments including but not limited to best practices, tools, and technologies to enhance the overall security program.
  • Safeguard sensitive and confidential information regarding Inter-Con and the client.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate will be expected to pass all relevant training to include, but not limited to behavioral analysis, de-escalation techniques, active threat, and discrete surveillance.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the latest technology in security systems, use of smartphones, communication and secure collaboration apps.
  • Physically capable of performing the assigned work
  • Exhibit good general health without physical defects or abnormalities which would interfere with the performance of duties under this contract
  • Communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally, in writing, and over various communications systems
  • Ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public
  • Exercise of good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and ability to render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his/her position responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress; such as fires, civil disturbances, building evacuations, and other critical incidents
  • Capable of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials
  • Ability to meet all applicable licensing, registration and certification requirements in the state in which the assigned facility is located Prepare and submit security reports that are legible, accurate and complete.
