Qualifications

• Previous experience as a security guard in a similar position is required (minimum 1 year).

• References must be provided in order to check prior experience.
• Licenses related to loss prevention and security are recommended.
• Dependable, reliable transportation to ensure being on-time for each shift is required.
• Prior law enforcement experience is a plus.
• Present a professional appearance
• Good communication and penmanship skills.
• Integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Unarmed security detail. No weapon is allowed on property.
• Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Stationed at the entrance of the store as a visual deterrent.
• Monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store, check bags as needed
• Monitor and utilize surveillance equipment.
• Monitor property for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances, such as monitor sales floor for potential theft and fraud.
• Apprehend criminals and evict violators in a way that will cause the least disturbance or loss to the Company.
• Help diffuse the situation when difficulties or arguments arise, calling the proper authorities as needed.
• Report in detail any suspicious incidents and take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
• Assist authorities in crimes involving store property, including the recovery of merchandise from shoplifters.
• Be the point person to ensure local authorities have all the correct information needed in regards to incidents inside or in the vicinity of the store.
• Stand for prolonged periods of time throughout the shift.
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property.
• Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
• Hours are scheduled weekly. Days can change on an as-needed basis.
• All-hands-on-deck, roll-up-your sleeves attitude with a sense of responsibility and professional attitude.
