Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist provides patient services using diagnostic equipment. Produces and analyzes ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for entering the patient s demographics in the ultrasound reporting system. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains adequate stock levels
• Assists in minor surgical procedures
• Provides basic patient care and comfort
• Operates all equipment in practice with competence
• Understands and institutes clinical policies and procedures
• Ability to do mathematical calculations and use instrument controls
• Provides attention to detail, safe work practices and thorough accurate documentation
• Provides ongoing daily calibration and preventive maintenance on required equipment
• Must have knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy including physiology, pathology and pathphysiology
• Under the supervision of physician is responsible for entering measurements in the reporting system, print reports, and file and fax as required to referring physicians
• Interacts between ultrasound and tissue and the probability of biological effects in clinical examination to provide accurate information to patients, physicians and other health care providers

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved school of Ultrasound. One to two years experience Ultrasound experience
• Knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy. Knowledge of physiology, pathology and path physiology
• ARDMS Certification
• Proficient in the use of various types of ultrasound equipment including Duplex Dopplers, Matrix Imaging, color cameras, automatic film processing units, computers, and ultrasound machines
• Travel to Lakewood and Toms River, required

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:00pm, varies
