Job description

1. Explains procedures to patients and/or accompanying family member to assure cooperation and optimum test results

2. Position and transfer patients.

3. Selects appropriate transducer depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, etc.

4. Conducts scanning procedures using Ultrasound equipment.

5*. Moves scanner over specific body area, adjusts equipment to focus.*

6. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.

7. Makes soft copy images as directed and sends them to PACS along with the scanned documents.

8. Documents results of tests accurately in the log book.

9. Reschedules test, if necessary, due to poor preparation.

10. When necessary must transport patient to and from Ultrasound department.

11. Practices sterile techniques and adheres to infection control policies.

12. Attends continuing education sessions regularly to maintain a high level of professional competency. ie; (licensure and certification requirements are met).

13. Performs sonographic examinations when requested in an interpretative, emergency and department setting.

14. Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department.

15. Maintains established department policies and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent.

2. ARDMS (AB) certification required.

3. Satisfactory completion of formal ultrasound technology training in AMA approved school.

Part -Time (Temp - 7hrs) Days: Alternate weekends Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $40.00 - $51.00 per hour
