Job Description:

The UX/UI Web Design function is responsible for developing digital and other design-led collateral, producing fully-branded, exacting designs. The Web Design team specializes in one or more of the following areas of design: responsive we, interactive, infographics, data visualization, tablet/handhelds and user experience.

Key success factors for this role include the ability to work with and manage expectations of stakeholders, plan/sequence tasks and dependencies to deliver value, work with the product owner to deliver user stories that meet acceptance criteria, and build in a way that ensures quality and reduces technical debt. The candidate should have a proven track record of delivering products with a customer-first mindset as part of an agile product delivery team.

Core Skills:

  • 2+ years experience developing web, software
  • 1+ years experience with TypeScript and React / Angular
  • Expertise in building Reactive web applications
  • 2+ years experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP
  • Expertise with React Extensions (RxJS)
  • Solid foundation in writing scalable web application code following best practices of accessibility, internationalization and instrumentation.
  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, SCSS, communication protocols, with solid knowledge and experience in programming web applications

Minimum Degree Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Degree Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Computer Science or related field

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Designing, developing, and consulting in interactive websites and digital design, while executing and contributing toward strategy development, preferably within a professional services firm;
  • Leveraging firm-issued systems and technologies (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite);
  • Providing concept, design, and layout of complex pieces ranging from internal materials to externally viewed multi-component campaigns;
  • Developing infographic/data visualization;
  • Utilizing and applying user experience and usability with regards to web standards; and,
  • Coding and programming tasks, and developing web applications and websites.

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Executing the concept, design and layout of complex pieces;
  • Educating, influencing and co-developing strategic design briefs and facilitating conceptualization design discussions that support the PwC brand and visual identity with all levels;
  • Managing a demanding and widely-fluctuating workload in high-volume, deadline-driven corporate environment, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite and Web design skills to create deliverables;
  • Planning, coding, and testing of the applications and/or sites, utilizing or conducting the following: Web development technologies, i.e. HTML, HTML5, Responsive design, CSS, JS, jQuery, charting libraries, JavaScript (including the ability to handle code and build responsive content); Performance and Load Testing Platforms; Unit Testing; Software development standard industry practices; CMS systems used for development;
  • Web development technologies, i.e. Reactjs, Angular, Microservices HTML, HTML5, Responsive design, CSS, JS, jQuery, charting libraries, JavaScript
  • Planning and producing sitemaps, wireframes, design comps, and user flows;
  • Developing graphic content to support website, apps, and social media;
  • Conducting research and troubleshooting errors with an extensive attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Utilizing and maintaining version control systems;
  • Utilizing effective written and verbal business communication when interacting with clients and firm staff and/or management in a professional services business environment, emphasizing the preparation of clear and concise documentation; and,

Desired skills:

  • Expert understanding of Engineering Excellence processes and requirements
  • Expertise and knowledge in modern engineering practices (Continuous Integration, TDD, automated deployments with integrated quality gates)
  • Expertise in the successful delivery of high quality web application code (requirements, design, code, documentation, etc.)
  • Strong experience in Frontend Design Patterns
  • Deep customer empathy and ability to quickly translate insights into mockups, wireframes, and working proof-of-concept code
  • Familiar with the development challenges inherent with highly scalable and available web applications
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and innovating large scale, consumer facing web or mobile applications
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM
  • Experience in implementing automated front-end testing using Jest and Cypress.io or Jasmine/Karma/Cucumber
  • Strong aptitude for delivering highly optimized and high performance frontend code
  • Believes no code is complete without Unit & Integration, Performance, E2E Automation testing
