Job description
The member will primarily be responsible for helping with activities and classes for the EFNEP Nutrition Education program in Pinal County. The EFNEP Nutrition Education program administers series of classes and during this time the member will help plan activities, prepare healthy recipes and assist with classes. The member will be trained in the specific curriculum for classes. The member will also help with recruitment of new participants during outreach and community events throughout Pinal County. The member will also assist with developing new strategies for recruitment such as social media. The member will also help with our Choose Health Action Teen (CHAT) Program. In the CHAT program the member will help plan and assist in educating high school students about healthy living and help CHAT students during the Healthy Living program. The member will help with educating younger youth in the community about Healthy Living and how to become more physically active. The member will also help with our CHAT Garden project by helping to prepare soil, plant seeds and plants, clean garden area, harvest and help with garden events.
Member Duties : Help with nutrition education classes throughout Pinal County. Classes will consist of lesson, physical activity and food demo. Provide nutrition education and physical activity to at least 50 youth (ages 5 to 19) through public speaking and presentations through Healthy Living Program; Provide nutrition education and physical activity to at least 50 adults through public speaking and presentations through EFNEP; Assist with CHAT program by working with younger youth in Pinal County on Garden project. Garden project will consist of planting, harvesting, cleaning and educating the community on gardening. Become certified in Food Safety. Some lifting required. This part-time position is 36 weeks long and may start in October or November 2022.
