As a Traveling Superintendent, you must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time, with an average of three weeks on the road and one long weekend home with per diem, meals and lodging provided.

Provides on-site coordination and oversight in the execution of all phases of projects throughout the U.S., while enforcing safety guidelines, quality standards, and project schedules.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide daily onsite management of subcontractors and tradesmen, foreman,
equipment operators and laborers to ensure adequate manpower is available
for each task and compliant work performed.
  • Coordinate and communicate with applicable inspection officials, safety team
members, engineers, and testing agencies.
  • Manage, implement, and oversee all site safety facets as required by OSHA
and other company policies.
  • Procure materials, pricing, and vendors
  • Effectively communicate and interact with home office, subcontractors, and
clients via phone, in person, and email correspondence.
  • Ensure all work conforms to plans, specifications, and schedule
  • Provide daily oversight of project schedule development, updates,
enforcement, and adherence.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion
for close out.
  • Coordinate and attend project and subcontractor planning meetings
  • Inspect sites; review and/or coordinate design reviews for the various
disciplines, review for code compliance and adherence to the contract
requirements.
  • Track progress of projects against goals, objectives, timelines, and budget
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors regarding quality of work or
scheduling.
  • Monitor expenses to ensure they fall within the prescribed budget.
  • Able to efficiently operate a smart phone or tablet.


SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts.
  • Assist in obtaining permits or approval or revisions.
  • Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the
jobsite.
  • Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope.
  • Open the jobsite at beginning of the day and secure the jobsite at the end of
the day.
  • Assist in hiring sub-tier employees.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst subcontractors and
vendors.
  • Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution.
  • Communicate using the following tools: telephone, digital forms, written logs,
email, computer, and/or digital camera.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated
structures.
  • Monitor jobsite general health and safety.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervising experience in heavy industrial and selective
demolition projects, potential risks and hazards and ability to communicate
with and resolve conflicts between internal and external individuals at all
levels.
  • Minimum of OSHA 30 training and be fully committed to enforcement of all
regulatory and Corporate Health and Safety Requirements. Continued skill
training is supported by the company.
  • Heavy equipment knowledge (preferred).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem solving.

This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, talk, and hear. The employee is required to have sufficient dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other business machines. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk or electrical shock, and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
