We are seeking an enthusiastic board certified/board eligible general/trauma surgeon who has exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills to join our surgical team at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in beautiful East Stroudsburg, PA.

Practice Overview:

• High functioning level III trauma center with approximately 1400 + patient contacts a year
• Elective general surgery practice in addition to running trauma center
• Time will be split between:
  • Rounding on the inpatient trauma and acute care surgical patients
  • Outpatient office setting for trauma and surgical follow ups, as well as new elective general surgical patients
  • Respond to trauma alert activations
  • Cover acute care surgery when group is on call
  • Call which is in general 1:4

East Stroudsburg, Pa is a location in the Pocono region of Northeastern Pennsylvania that offers four seasons of full outdoor activities that range from hiking, skiing, hunting, fishing, and whitewater rafting to NASCAR and Indy Car events. New York City is only a 90-minute drive away and Philadelphia is within 2 hours.

Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono is a 231-bed campus (Joined LVHN Jan 2017). Employing 230 physicians with 2,000 total employees, 51 bed emergency department (over 85,000 annual patient visits), plus 40,000 annual patient visits to urgent care locations, 10 surgical suites / OR's (and large ambulatory surgical area). Plus 1 trauma bay. DaVinci Robot is available for MIS procedures. LVH-Pocono has a combined ICU with medical and surgical patients. Trauma/Surgical Critical Care co-manages their ICU patients with Medical Critical Care (Medical Critical Care mostly for night coverage purposes when the general surgeons are on call). No formal SICU service exists.

Job Qualifications:

• Must be Board Eligible or Certified by American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery
• Willing to take Emergency General Surgery call and Trauma Surgery call
• A valid PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
• Current ATLS certification (instructor status preferred)
