Job description

This work is performed under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator. The primary responsibility of the driver shall be the safe operation of vehicles and safe transport of DHS customers.

* Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)

* Must be at least 21 years of age with 3 years driving experience

* Must possess a valid driver’s license with the class of license appropriate to the vehicle to be operated

o Drivers may not have six or more points against their driver’s license, or a suspended or revoked driver’s license, within the last 5 years, for violations indicated by the DDS

* 7 year MVR

o No more than 2 violations/DUI’s in 3 year period within the past 5 years of a 7 year MVR

* No prior convictions of sexual or violent crime; any felony within past 5 years must be reviewed by DHR

* Drivers are required to have a national criminal history records check through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in accordance with DHS as well as undergoing and passing a drug/alcohol test.

* Desirable Training:

o Consumer Service, Courtesy, and Sensitivity Awareness

o Certified Courses in Basic First Aid & CPR

o Defensive Driving
