General Summary:

The duty of the Translator is to transcribe and translate Spanish-speaking witness or victim statements, defendant statements, forensic interviews, other audio or video recordings, and miscellaneous documents from Spanish into English.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Transcribing and translating audio and video recordings from Spanish into English
• Translating documents
• Creating statistical reports and data
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information

Required Education/Experience:

Must have a license or certification for translation or interpretation by an authorized accreditation agency such as the JBCC Licensed Court Interpreter certification. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a must. Strong written and oral communication skills in both Spanish and English languages

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:

This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary based on the business needs of the department.

Salary (Starting):

$31.95 hourly/$5,538.00 monthly/$66,456 annually
