The Training and Quality Assurance Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for the training coordination, administration, and compliance in the assigned program areas. This position works closely with the program management and clinical team to review, assign and monitor employee training and certification, ensures training recordkeeping compliance, and develops training policies and best practices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide new employee onboarding by teaching new staff orientation, as well as reviewing, assigning, and maintaining applicable training schedule.
  • Enroll all assigned employees in the required training courses. Remove employees not meeting the training compliance standards off the schedule and notify the management.
  • Maintain records of all assigned employees training activities. Receive/upload certificates and update the necessary systems with relevant data.
  • Serve as a primary contact for training-related questions for the employees, program management, internal and external training instructors. Serve as Agency Contact with MHRT Coordinator at USM Muskie School for all MHRT certifications.
  • Work alongside with internal trainers to create and maintain a training calendar. Communicate the attendance of employees for trainings to program management, trainers, and employees.
  • Communicate training compliance status to the program managers.
  • Recommend, design and develop training policies and procedures for the assigned area.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through development, tracking and analysis of training evaluations. Check with instructors on training attendance, struggles with the training, test results, etc. Share the feedback with the program management. Recommend improvements to training process, content and delivery to better meet current employees and clients needs.
  • Get to know the clients and their needs through direct care work in the assigned area. Utilize this knowledge to make recommendations for internal trainers and provide relevant examples at the staff trainings.
  • Complete Quarterly Audits with Quarterly Demo Data Reporting.
  • Complete Quarterly Census Reporting review.
  • Act as the regional point person for Licensing.
  • Attend quarterly meetings with Quality Improvement Manager.
  • Keep up to date with the regulatory training compliance for the assigned areas.
  • Participate in and contribute to other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required; college education in relevant discipline or MHRT-C preferred.
  • MHRT-1 and Minimum of one-year experience working within the behavioral health field required;
  • Attention to detail is a must; Excellent communication skills, including active listening, written, oral and record-keeping skills; along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Understanding of community resources, implementation of individual training plans, and documentation of care preferred;
  • Ability to self-motivate and initiate work independently. Willingness to engage with clients;

  • Valid drivers license and transportation required. Employee must have a good driving record and at least 3 years driving experience to transport clients using their vehicle;
  • Per the state of Maine regulations, all behavioral health and IDD employees will be required to submit proof of immunization records upon employment for the following: MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu, and Covid-19.
