This position is responsible for tracking and directing traffic for all inbound and outbound vehicles entering the Perfection Pet Foods plant.
Responsibilities:
  • Collect all information needed from driver to begin the proper paperwork procedure for all incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Keep accurate records of traffic activity.
  • Direct drivers to proper locations for pick up and deliveries.
  • Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the yard level to maintain an orderly flow.
  • Monitor and track all trucks and trailers entering/departing to and from the facility.
  • Responsible for pulling samples from trucks for QA Testing.
  • Scanning IRF to the P drive for tracking.
  • Cross functional communication with multiple departments.
  • Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing visitors of policy and procedures; reporting trespassers.
  • Maintain visibility to ensure/deter unacceptable activities.
  • Report any food safety issue observed to Manager or Supervisor.
  • Report any security breaches, attempts at product tampering or contamination, or other suspicious behavior observed to Manager or Supervisor.
  • Complete and comply with the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Compliance.
  • Maintain a food-safe sanitary environment at all times.
  • Escalate any non-conforming product/equipment/material to the appropriate manager/supervisor immediately.
  • Follow Company’s quality assurance procedures and protocols at all times while on duty (eg. Labeling of containers, Inventory Control, PM programs).
  • Promote a positive proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged.
  • Provide back-up support for other roles, as necessary.
  • Available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of zero to three (0-3) years’ experience in similar position.
Skills:
  • Working knowledge of transportation industry
  • Basic computer skills / data entry.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent English language communication skills (oral and written) required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Must be able to deal with uncertainty and have good judgment and objectivity
  • Must be dependable and proactive
  • Must demonstrate tact and the ability to effectively manage emotions in tense situations or when under pressure
  • Must demonstrate the utmost integrity and trustworthiness
  • Must demonstrate professionalism in speech, actions and attire as a representative of the company.
Physical Requirments:
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to withstand outside working conditions
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee will be regularly exposed to very dusty and noisy conditions
  • The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the process
