Dixon Automatic Tool, Inc. is a family-owned business founded in 1946. We design and build automated assembly machinery with close tolerance tooling and construction, along with OEM and outside “job shop” work.

We are looking for skilled Tool Room Machinist to fill a Full-Time position.

We currently operate Toolroom Milltronics CNC vertical milling machines, as well as Doosan and Fadal CNC vertical mills, and Mazak CNC lathes with live tooling, Conversational Programming, Mastercam, Solidworks, G-Code, and Mazatrol software/languages. We also perform low volume machining and secondary operations on Tree and Bridgeport manual mills, manual lathes, and drill presses.

Responsibilities:

• Read and Interpret Routing Instructions, Blueprints 2D & 3D Models
• Setup, Program, and operate CNC Toolroom Mills (fully CNC and fully manual)
• Be able to program from solid models ( Solidworks ) as well as 2D, 3D prints
• Setup & machine complex, precision parts with CNC Mills, manual mills, lathes, & surface grinders
• Prepare raw parts and de-burr completed parts
• Perform inspection checks of completed parts to drawing specifications
• Perform daily machinery upkeep of chips, coolant, light maintenance & lubrication
• Manage direct and in-direct time efficiently
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Work with, train, and mentor upcoming machinists
• Follow & contribute to the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management program
• Follow the safety policies of the company and work with an attitude of safety

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience as a Toolmaker
• Skilled in in Tool Maker level machining finishing, and inspection processes
• Excellent math skills, spatial-understanding and awareness
• Excellent knowledge of GD&T ( Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing )
• Proficient knowledge of tool steel types, aluminum, and heat treat processes
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience Conversational, Mastercam, G-Code programming
• Able to communicate clearly (speak, read, write) in the English language
• Personal Integrity, Attention to Detail, Pride of Workmanship, excellent work habits
