Tooling Coordinator

Diamond Plastics Corporation has an immediate opening for a Tooling position. This position is responsible to provide technical / physical support in the area of electrical and mechanical maintenance. Maintain plant equipment and systems in good operations condition in order to insure safe and efficient production utilization.

Essential Functions

    Set up, change over, adjust, and operate all of the machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
    Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that tooling machines run efficiently including: cleaning, inspection, and modification.
    Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of tooling/die.
    Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and/or tooling.
    Examines exterior of tooling/die for defects, such as cracks or excessive wear.
    Prepare tools and materials needed in advance of change over to reduce non-production time.
    Clean, lubricate, and adjust tooling, parts, equipment, and machinery.
    Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
    Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
    Recognize and respond to production and machine tooling related problems, then identify and implement appropriate resolutions and remedies.
    Reassemble machinery/tooling after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
    Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.
    Record repairs and maintenance performed to tooling/dies.
    Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
    Assist with sending defective units to the manufacturer or to a specialized repair shop for repair.
    Maintain inventory of spare parts, tooling/die.
    Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of issues or unusual matters of significance.
    Comply with all company standards, rules and policies.
    Reliable attendance.
    Other tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to work 8 to 12-hour shifts.

2. Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors.

3. Must be able to lift, push, and pull weights up to 60 pounds.

Experience and Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
