The agency maintains highly qualified mental health professionals including: licensed therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, case managers, youth counselors, parent partners and peer support staff who provide services at our 5 locations.

The agency achieves its goals of family and community empowerment by providing services in both residential as well as outpatient mental health programs.

The agency is seeking qualified candidates for the Therapeutic Behavioral Service Coach (TBS Coach) position. Please see Job duties:

The TBS Coach Provide one on one intervention as a professional mental health service to the assigned child in accordance with the treatment plan developed by the TBS team (Clinical Director of TBS, TBS Coach, Specialty Mental Health Provider (SMHP), and County TBS Liaison.)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with emotionally troubled children
  • High values and ethics
  • Good communication and relationship building skills
  • Obtain a valid California Driver’s License
  • Ability to work effectively in crisis situations
  • Mature judgment
  • Ability to interact with a multitude of different socioeconomic, gender, and linguistic attributes in a culturally sensitive manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain continuity of a positive, constructive, and therapeutic environment in the child’s residence by providing appropriate interventions with the child.
  • Work closely with TBS Team in implementing and maintaining the child’s treatment plan.
  • Build positive, caring relationships with the assigned child based on respect, trust, and good communication. Utilize a non-threatening approach to assist the child in dealing with everyday life circumstances.
  • Complete session and collateral documentation immediately after each session. Complete monthly paperwork as instructed by supervisor. Documentation is to be turned in weekly to appropriate TBS Supervisor.
  • Work cooperatively with treatment team to meet treatment goals of client.
  • Position requires 3 days of availability. Weekdays: 2:30pm-8:30pm, Weekends: Any 6 hour shift
  • Attend scheduled supervisions and trainings.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Clinical Director of TBS or administrative personnel.

Specialized Skills:

Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with emotionally disturbed/ delinquent adolescents, staff and the public.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to physically assist in lifting and carrying
  • Ability to visually and audibly assess Children’s behavior and needs.
  • Ability to walk and run to supervise active games with children’s which includes, kneeling, bending and scooping.

Must work as a member of the treatment team. Integrity, reliability and professional conduct is a must.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
