Casual Worker
Office for Students with Disabilities

Salary Range: $15.00 - $140.00/Hourly

Work Schedule: On-call. Temporary appointment ends on/or before June 30, 2023; non-exempt classification.

Essential Functions: Under the supervision of the Director and Associate Director for the Office for Students with Disabilities, the Test Proctor/Reader administers standardized tests, class exams/quizzes, and comprehensive exams to students with disabilities. The incumbent will: schedule exams; read exam questions to students; collect exam materials; and pick up and deliver exams to the respective departments. The incumbent will apply required procedures for managing testing rooms; verify count of test materials; be aware of related test security issues, and understand importance of safeguarding materials at all times; promote good public relations by answering procedural questions and handling complaints; report and document all necessary irregularities; and process paperwork related to exam administration

Required Qualifications & Experience: Equivalent to two years of education at an accredited institution of higher education or two years of full-time work experience. Incumbent must have the ability to: read directions clearly to examinees; complete forms; interact well with students and instructors; apply required procedures for managing testing rooms and related test security issues; verify count of test materials, understand importance of safeguarding materials at all times; and promote good public relations by answering procedural questions and handling complaints. Must possess legible writing, accurate spelling, and excellent communication skills; be dependable and punctual; and demonstrate an interest or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.
