The Technology Support specialist will work closely with Strang’s integrated team of professionals in the AEI Industry to provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. Working under the direction of the Department Director, you will gain knowledge and experience to support the firm as it relates to developing and maintaining the technical infrastructure by performing moderately complex systems engineering tasks. The candidate should possess an understanding of general IT concepts & technologies across network, hardware, and software platforms. This position can be based at one of our regional offices in Wisconsin with flexibility to work from home.

This position is part-time with the opportunity for mentorship into a potential full-time role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware and software support services to onsite/remote staff by answering users' questions, training users on basic system and computer functions, addressing system and user issues, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Assists with the planning and coordinating of system logistics, workflows, upgrades and system security and affiliated procedures.
  • Coordinates system-wide updates and installs upgrades and patches.
  • Support of enterprise endpoint management technologies such as remote management, directory services, or IT service management systems.
  • Assist the A/E staff as it relates to a supporting role when it comes to assisting those in need when a project deadline is at hand and project delivery is the task.
  • Diagnose end-user system and other peripheral device failures
  • Web Support for the implementation of existing / new hosted client SharePoint sites, including updating the libraries, organization of files and portal creation, testing, cross-training, and support.
Requirements:


Experience, skills, and abilities:

  • Communicates effectively (written and verbally) with staff to understand often complex issues and propose effective and timely solutions.
  • Knowledge of or a willingness to learn these platforms is desired: Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Autodesk BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud, Autodesk AEC Collection
  • Displays attention to detail and organizational skills; applies sound judgment in establishing priorities among support requests.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Demonstrates professionalism, maintains confidentiality in organizational matters, and always positively represents Strang, Inc.
  • Ability to develop, effectively implement, document, and maintain organizational processes and systems.
  • Ability to quickly learn and use software and application tools; and motivation to engage in ongoing and in-depth learning.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology or related degree is beneficial.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in IT and / or AE Industry or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired
  • The knowledge of the AEC industry workflows, documentation, and delivery is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in web design concepts, and an understanding of Microsoft SharePoint is beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of current technology and trends
  • Hands on troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Previous customer support experience desirable
