Laboratory Testing, Inc. (LTI) is in search of a Summer Inter Technician Assistant tto join the Fatigue & Fracture team. LTI is a capital-intensive business with a corporate campus made up of three buildings and one satellite location. Each building consists of manufacturing and office space and a vast array of test equipment and machining assets.


POSITION SUMMARY
:

The Technician Assistant will be responsible for measurements, sample preparation, performing testing according to guidelines and procedures. This position will work closely with the Laboratory Coordinator and other technicians in supporting testing programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Measure and prepare specimens for testing.
  • Set up equipment, fixtures, and software for tests as appropriate.
  • Operate servo-hydraulic test frames to perform tests.
  • Monitor tests for anomalies.
  • Measure specimens after testing, and document test results.
  • Assist with maintenance of test equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Candidate should have strong mechanical aptitude and good mathematical abilities.
  • Must be able to conform to U. S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Must be a U. S. citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the U. S., or protected individual as defined by 8 U. S. C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U. S. Department of State.
