Technical Support Specialist

On site opportunity in Devens, MA

Available Shifts:
  • Days: 6AM-6PM
  • Overnights: 6PM-6AM
    • Days will be either M-Th or Wed-Sun
  • Float shift - M-F 5PM-1AM - flexibility required to assist with other shift time as needed
Long term contract (1 year +)

Ideal candidate has at least 1 year of technical support experience is flexible, great with hardware, software and network support. This role will support end users as well as be hands on with technical maintenance needs.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Installation and configuration of computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Monitoring and maintenance of computer systems and networks.
  • Communicate with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose or solve systems, networks, hardware, or software failures.
  • Replace equipment parts as required.
  • Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a failure or set up a system.
  • Support the roll-out of new applications.
  • Set up new users' accounts, profiles and deals with password issues.
  • Responds within agreed time limits to call-outs.
  • Rapidly establishes a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, ex: software developers.
  • Tests and evaluates new technology.
  • Schedule/request facilities, network, and infrastructure work.
  • Monitor LAN capacity including but not limited to available network ports in each wiring closet & Data Center.
  • Stay current and compliant with company & customer processes, policies and procedures.
  • Printer Management and Labeling.
  • Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience in IOT systems design, installation and troubleshooting preferably in a personal care/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment or a closely related industry.
