Job description
Provide Dole’s customers ongoing technical and training related to the handling, banana ripening rooms, and retail merchandising techniques of Fresh Fruit products, in order to recommend the best practices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Visit customer facilities and comply with the assigned schedule, reviewing all processes and practices performed by customers, in order to provide technical training and support and ensure proper execution of practices, correct use of the equipment, and merchandising techniques.
- Work closely with Sales and Research & Development personnel (sometimes with Latin divisions) to resolve technical issues related to the handling, packaging, ripening, and merchandising of fresh fruit products.
- Elaborate reports related to findings and recommendations provided for each customer visited, in order to send the information on time to the Sr. Technical Services Rep.
- Provide training in terms of technical matters related to the handling, ripening, and merchandising activities, in order to assure the execution of the best practices.
Required Skills
- Availability to work overtime and weekends.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual Spanish is preferable.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Able to lift to 50 lb. our banana and plantain boxes on-site as needed to perform quality checks at the warehouse or store levels.
Required Experience
- 2 years in a customer service or teaching/training role.
- Previous knowledge of the food industry (particularly produce) or supply chain industry is preferred.
