VMC Group is seeking a Technical Sales individual who loves the sales hunt, is motivated by winning, and not deterred by the selling process, to provide technical sales and support to Product/Compliance Engineers, Sales Managers and Dealers internationally to meet sales goals by:

  • Building relationships by following up and cold calling prospects utilizing various lead generation resources and ad hoc sources provided
  • Create & maintain accurate client records including all quotes and other communications in Salesforce
  • Respond to questions and issues to enhance sales opportunities
  • Follow-up on expiring seismic certifications (OSP and IBC)
  • Marketing/Prospecting - Generate regular laboratory marketing/media content, including photos and videos of shake test
  • Attend and actively participate in industry trade shows and symposiums
  • Produce periodic business status updates including quarterly PowerPoint slides
  • Review client quotes, including project scope and feasibility with the laboratory team
  • Audit Purchase Orders for accuracy and enter in Epicor
  • Project Management - Work with Engineering Team to problem solve scope, schedule and aid in resolving/trouble shooting technical issues
Requirements:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient with ERP and CRM software, preferably Epicor and Salesforce
    • Fluent in Microsoft Office applications
    • Develop an understanding of laboratory service offerings to effectively communicate with clients
    • Abide by all policies, rules and regulations of the company

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or Technology
  • 2 years outside sales or 3 years inside sales experience through technical experience channels
  • 1 year sales experience working with nonstructural mechanical and/or electrical components preferred
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings preferred, or a willingness to learn
  • Reading and interpretation of building codes, standards, engineering specs and drawings experience
  • Familiarity with vibration isolation and seismic restraint products and engineering services preferred
  • 25-50% travel - North America
