The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, NY is currently hiring full-time Teacher Aides for our education programs serving children with developmental disabilities.

Teacher aide/assistants needed to work with students aged 12-21 in a private school. The school supports children with Autism, development delays and behavioral management needs.

Locations: New Windsor, NY

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm, 35 hours/week

Teacher Aide Responsibilities:

• Maintain students in line of site at all times
• Provide assigned students with non-instructional supports as directed by the classroom teacher
• Accompany students throughout the day
• Act as a companion for students
• Provide assistance with student as indicated by their IEP’s and in accordance with instructions from the supervising teacher
• Assist students with personal hygiene with methods prescribed by the IEP
• Assist in lunch preparation
• Perform record keeping functions as assigned by the teacher
• Additional duties as assigned

Teacher Aide Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Bilingual (Spanish-English) A PLUS!
• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred
