OVERVIEW OF TEAM
KKR’s tax team oversees the domestic and international tax compliance and reporting for hundreds of our partnership and corporate tax entities related to our various investment funds, including private equity, credit, energy and real estate. The team compiles and reviews tax data for investor reporting, analyzes tax treatment and allocation for reporting and withholding purposes, performs, reviews tax provisions for blocker corporations, and responds to numerous LP ad-hoc tax related requests. The team functions at a high level in a fast-paced environment, consistently collaborating with our finance team, deal team members and external legal and tax advisors.
POSITION SUMMARY
KKR’s tax team is looking for a high performing individual who excels when operating in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment across all asset classes including credit, private equity, energy, and real estate. The tax accountant will work closely with various groups within the firm on a variety of projects including working closely with our tax advisors to coordinate tax data for investor reporting, analyze tax treatment and review tax withholding calculations, review tax provisions for blocker corporations, responds to numerous LP, and handle ad-hoc tax related requests. The team functions at a high level in a fast-paced environment, consistently collaborating with our finance team, deal team members and external legal and tax advisors.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
A successful candidate will have two to three years as a staff accountant within a Big 4 firm. CPA is a plus. Should have prior experience working on private equity or real estate clients. An ideal candidate will have strong technology skills, be able to multi-task, and be a team player.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working closely with outside service providers to ensure timely preparation and filing of fund, co-invests, separately managed accounts, internal discretionary entities annual schedules k-1’s
- Preparation of taxable income estimates to be sent to investors quarterly
- Maintain withholding documentation and overseeing compliance for FATCA, CRS, etc.
- Review investor tax questions and responses
- Review tax withholding calculations for distributions under quick turn-around
- Prepare quarterly tax provisions for blocker corporations,
- Handle numerous ad-hoc tax related requests.
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
- Four-year bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record from an accredited top-tier college or university; advanced degree a plus
- Highly organized, efficient and able to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
- Attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities
- Process and technology oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively in a team.
