Tax Enrolled Agent - Small Business

Are you an experienced tax professional who enjoys working with small businesses? Acuity is actively seeking Enrolled Agents to join our team in providing an exceptional tax experience to our clients. In this role, you would be responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients who see you as a trusted advisor and expect a “no surprises” tax experience.

Duties include:

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients leading to a progressive & positive experience. Engage in quarterly meaningful contact to strengthen the relationship and stay current on any changes that may affect tax positions.
• Prepare Partnership, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, and Personal tax returns.
• Calculate and communicate quarterly tax estimates and year-end S-Corp compensation adjustments.
• Answer client questions and provide advice on routine tax & business matters identifying opportunities for tax savings.
• Research and resolve tax issues with federal and state agencies.
• Collaborate with Acuity’s bookkeeping team to ensure financial statements accurately reflect financial performance for your clients.

Qualifications:

• Degreed: You have an Enrolled Agent license
• Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with broad exposure to various tax return types (corporate, partnership, individual, and not for profit). You are able to prepare signature-ready tax returns while meeting tax deadlines.
• Attention To Details: You are particular about order and organization. If a process isn’t followed or an account doesn't reconcile, you are NOT a happy camper. Your work is well documented and can be followed by others.
• Proactive: You always have your eye on how what you do now will prepare you for what you have to do later.
• Tenacious: You are not intimidated by expectations of a consistent and, sometimes, heavy workload, especially around tax deadlines.
• Efficient Communicator: You are comfortable communicating/ explaining tax concepts to clients. You are adept at communicating to a wide range of people and are polite, yet concise. You are totally comfortable communicating on the phone, email, Zoom, and other mediums.
• Critical Cog: You don’t back down from knowing that your responsibilities have a direct impact on the growth of Acuity, and even more importantly....your client. This is all welcomed and seen as an opportunity.
• Proven Over-Achiever: You have consistently exceeded the expectations set out in front of you in previous roles.
• Tech Geek: You have experience working within cloud-based tax and accounting systems. You quickly pick up any new systems that are put in front of you and welcome the opportunity to try new technologies.
