Location: North Fort Myers, FL
Work Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Systems Engineer Sr. Position Summary: This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, tuning, upgrade, planning and repair of LCEC Linux systems and related storage and back-up infrastructure. Daily monitoring of system performance and availability is required. System interface scheduling and data encryption processes must be monitored, and new interfaces created and documented to meet new requirements. System and back-up infrastructure must be designed and maintained to ensure data integrity and recoverability that meets the LCEC defined recovery time and recovery point objectives (RTO/RPO). The position must provide 24/7 on-call support at all times.

Systems Engineer Sr. Position Responsibilities

• Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Oracle Linux or CentOS system management.
• Redhat package manager (RPM) system management.
• Ansible or python scripting
• Spacewalk or RedHat Satellite
• Storage Area Network (SAN) switch configuration and management.
• Network Attached Storage (NAS) device management and NFS and Samba File Servers.
• Symantec NetBackup storage support.
• Disaster Recovery replication configuration and support, including ransomware solutions.
• Performance monitoring and tuning, kernel tuning and configuration.
• Install, configure, secure and maintain external facing web/application servers.
• Install, configure, and maintain new and existing hardware utilizing best practices for system hardening and management.
• Security auditing, audit compliance, and management of security-level profiles.
• Conduct needs analysis, perform system capacity planning, define & create development, test & production work environments.
• Ensure consistency, automation and orchestration of Business Processes, including maintenance and scheduling of internal and external file transfer operations.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field. (Required)

Experience

• 2+ to 5 Years additional experience may be substituted for a degree. (Required)
• 2+ to 5 Years progressive Linux System Management experience (Required)
• Experience managing an enterprise Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS) or Fiber Channel array interfaces and associated networks. (Required)
• Experience with D2D and D2T back-up solutions and systems. (Required)
• Experience with PGP, SFTP and FTPS. (Required)
• RHEL Cluster experience. (Preferred)
• Oracle RAC Cluster experience. (Preferred)
• Experience with BMC Control-M scheduling software suite. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to use MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel and Visio. (Required)
• TCP/IP networking and related configuration management skills. (Preferred)
• Shell Script, Perl or Python Programming. (Preferred)

STORM DUTY REQUIREMENTS.... Responding to storms will be considered a condition of employment: LCEC provides critical services to our community during an emergency. Employees are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our LCEC members. Employees are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's guidelines and procedures.
