SRI International’s Computer Science Laboratory (CSL) develops leading-edge tools and methods for areas including computer security, high-assurance systems, advanced user interfaces, computer networking, robotics, biotechnology and nanotechnology. CSL is looking to hire a Systems Engineer to support research staff efforts by installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will work with a team of Sr. Engineers & Researchers to address complex customer problems to include:
- Developing scripts
- Writing code
- Testing software
- Installing and supporting additional application software
- Advising and supporting users
- Document, monitor, and maintain the security configuration of supported systems.
The ideal candidate will a proven track record of systems support with a variety of operating systems, including Linux, Windows and Mac OS.
Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Due to government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen with a minimum Active TS Level clearance.
- Experience with Linux and Windows administration and support required
- Experience with Macintosh administration and support a strong positive
- Strong language experience: Bash, MS Power Shell, Java, or Perl
- Experience with scripting and virtual machines (VMware)
- Experience working on multiple projects in a fast pace environment
Desired skills:
- Experience with puppet machine provisioning
- Experience with support and integration of mixed Unix/PC environments
- Experience with state-of-the-art version control, build, package and test management, both for frontend UI and backend software development (i.e. Git or Maven)
