Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide IT support and system administration for the IHI Power Services Corp’s corporate IT infrastructure and Remote Operations Center.
Job Functions
- Maintain the computer systems including installing, patching, and upgrading servers and supporting hardware. Maintain system compliance with NERC and Cyber Security Standards.
- Ensure the integrity and availability of existing operational platform, including servers (both physical and virtual), application delivery, networking, and telecommunications.
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Coordinate with managed service providers for server management, security solutions, network hardware, and equipment upgrades.
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading, and support of all IT systems, including servers, routers, firewalls, VPN, ERP, and computers.
- Remotely update networking devices to resolve identified issues and restore operation to the system.
- Maintain industrial ethernet networking in the operational technology (OT) space, including configuration of managed switches, use of vLANs, routing protocols, fiber/copper network medium (termination, technical limitations, and proper implementation).
- Responsible for installation and configuration of historian servers and interfaces, along with system administration and monitoring tasks, for both new installations and upgrades.
- Work with datacenter hardware (HP, Dell) and infrastructure software (VM backup, antivirus, etc.).
- Travel to sites to install/configure integration hardware and establish system connectivity.
- Document and develop existing processes, IT policies, and procedures.

Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Bachelor’s in computer science, information technology, other relevant engineering field, or 4 years of relevant industry experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
- Experience in managing Windows Servers, Active Directory, Office365
- Experience with systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience in managing virtual infrastructure in VMWare, Azure and AWS cloud (a plus)
- Experience implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols (a plus)
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (a plus)
- Experience in power generation industry (a plus)

Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- The functions of this job are conducted at the IHI Aliso Viejo, CA office with 10% travel to sites across the US. Remote work can be considered.
- May require working up to 12 hours with weekend and holiday work (only if necessary to support a project).
