Job Position: System Administrator I


Purpose: Under the direction of the IT Director you will maintain the continued operation of computer systems, database, and network assets to support daily business operations.


Responsibilities

  • Consulting with the IT Director and other departments as required.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, databases, network equipment, servers, and virtualization environment.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, remediating, and documenting resolutions according to priority and impact.
  • Regular backup operations including processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
  • Maintaining system configurations and files associated with network equipment, servers, and backups.
  • Leading Level 1 and Level 2 Helpdesk support requests and ensuring all desktop applications, workstations and equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited downtime.
  • Access provisioning of all software through onboarding, change requests, and offboarding.
  • Maintaining and organizing a detailed documentation system related to SOPs, Work Instructions, and Procedures for the IT Department.
  • Assist the IT Director and other departments in creating documentation and training materials related to hardware and software and their Training.
  • Staying current with emerging technologies, software updates, and security related threats.
  • Other job duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Industry-specific certification in relevant IT fields, programming languages or software are preferred.
  • Associates in computer science, and 2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of proven experience in a heavy customer focus position involving and technical knowledge of a companies' products and services
  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution
  • Comfortable working in and assisting others through company help desk software.
  • Accept constructive criticism and customer feedback regarding their experience with software or IT services.
  • Experience working with different operating systems including Windows and Linux.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
  • Professional written and interpersonal skills are essential when communicating with customers and clients

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
