Position Summary:
Maintains, monitors, configures, and repairs computer systems and infrastructure to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security meets the needs of the users. Troubleshoots and tests system components to ensure that computers, software, and network equipment function seamlessly together.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Accountable for configuring Window server operating systems
- Serve as a technical resource on Windows server systems hardware and software and its effective application at Port Houston facilities
- Install and configure new Windows server hardware, software, peripherals, and services in accordance with current IT standards; manage, upgrade, and configure Active Directory infrastructure
- Create and maintains network shared folder, shared printer, and group policy objectives
- Monitor and review system logs, detect and troubleshoot problems
- Install, manage, and maintain anti-virus software
- Ensure all Windows systems are kept current with regard to patch levels, software revisions, and feature sets
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem resolution in Windows server and associated systems
- Create and maintain VMware and VMware Horizon View Datastores
- Maintain VSphere networking and manage upgrade and configure VMware Vcenter servers
- Maintain, install, configure, and administer Web server software
- Manage exchange storage and mailbox databases
- Update, work and close tickets in IT ticketing system
- Mentor and act as a point of escalation to Service Desk team
- Answer Service Desk phones on an occasional basis during heavy volume or during Service Desk meetings
- Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and manage enterprise application server clusters.
- Manage, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot all storage equipment and related services
- Assist in storage backups, data retention and related user community services
- Create, maintain, and update documentation including server inventory (physical and virtual) and monitoring/alerting via SolarWinds
- Act in accordance with Port Houston core values (respect, excellence, accountability, diligence, and you)
- Perform other duties as required
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related major in a public or accredited private academic institution required; additional years’ experience can be substituted in lieu of an undergraduate degree
· 5+ years of related information technology experience required

- Knowledge of Internet Information Server (IIS) and the basic operation of websites, Application Pools, IIS Administration, the IIS Metabase, Ports and SSL Certifications
