Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining the API time collection system. Typically reports to Payroll Manager. Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional. In lieu of certification, must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience with payroll processing, time collection system processing or information systems support of these systems.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in time and attendance system administration or three (3) years of information technology support of a time and attendance, payroll or general ledger system required
  • Working knowledge of computerized time and attendance systems, preferably in healthcare or hospital operations
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proven knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, MS Office, and databases
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills including ability to prioritize work schedule
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong customer service, communication, and human relations skills.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Supports and maintains new or existing Time & Attendance system applications, including but not limited to: managing system security, installing upgrades/enhancements, functional and integration testing, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Assists end users with time collection system questions and issue resolution. Responsible for escalating system issues to ISD as needed.
  • Provides time collection system training and education as needed.
  • Approves all unapproved clocking and calendar entries. Reviews and resolves biweekly time card critical exceptions prior to the biweekly time collection system closing.
  • Completes the biweekly close of the time collection system, archiving time cards and rolling the system over to the new pay period.
  • Trains editors, approvers, and new users on how to use the time collection system. Creates training materials to assist users with the time collection system.
  • Assists with the development of new pay rules, pay codes, and special codes as needed.
  • Presents and justifies proposals for system modifications, enhancements, and new technology solutions in coordination with ISD.
  • Develops and maintains system reports for internal and external customers.
  • With minimal guidance, defines boundaries, sets priorities, plans, and manages multiple projects. With moderate guidance, develops detailed project schedules for all assigned projects and maps dates and resources to tasks. Monitors progress and resolves approved deviations from the plan.
  • Makes recommendations on system procedures in accordance with project scope and agreed upon requirements.
  • Provides system analysis on problems or issues related to automated Time & Attendance.
  • Liaisons with ISD Management on the operation of automated time collection system.
  • Coordinates with regional users to maintain tables and matrixes that interface to and from the time collection system.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
