Job description
The system administrator position is responsible for managing the software and hardware involved with running NIWC PAC specified development labs. Duties include tracking network traffic and activity, installing and configuring software updates and performing database backups to restore and protect user information.
Position responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with the cyber engineering support team and customer to identify the needs of the organization
- Installing and maintaining hardware and software used in support of the NIWC PAC mission
- Support system upgrades, configuration, and repairs as required
- Maintaining system security in accordance with security specifications
- Assigning and updating access controls and security permissions for the network
- Taking corrective action to address system or network issues
- Document product fact sheets, help documentation, interface schemas, developer onboarding, user manuals, administrator manuals, changelogs, version descriptors, formal delivery documents as required by NIWC PAC
- Assist the team in the development, integration, and testing of NIWC PAC specified classified development labs.
- Develop technical specifications for COTS/GOTS and developmental systems and components including technical drawings, diagrams, and graphic designs, as required. Systems and networks will be at the SECRET and TOP SECRET classified levels, which requires the contractor to meet appropriate security strategies as part of the design process.
- Perform configuration management activities to include configuration management planning, configuration identification, configuration change management, configuration status accounting, configuration verification and audit, product support management, data management, interface management, and requirements management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates or higher degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline
- DoD 8570.01-M, Cyber Security Assurance Workforce Improvement Program IAT Level 2 certification
- Configuration management experience with servers, virtual environments, and cloud-based environments
- Experience with NIST or other configuration management best practices desired
- Experience with provisioning and managing Cloud Service Offerings (CSOs) within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Four years of job-related experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience documenting system artifacts, configurations, network diagrams, and other technical guidance
- Experience complying with DISA STIGs
- Cross-domain experience
