Middleby Corporation has a great opportunity for a System Administrator to join our Team! This role is onsite at our Elgin, IL location with a hybrid schedule!
The Systems Administrator will be a critical Information Technology team member. Identifies, researches, and resolves complex technical problems. Creates and manages escalation procedures and ensures service levels are maintained. Documents, tracks, and monitors concerns to ensure resolution promptly. This position provides technical support assisting end-users with their day-to-day technical duties and issues.
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide tier I/II technical support on various technical issues and problems.
- Perform installs, upgrades, moves, and changes for computer workstation hardware and software, servers, printers, other peripheral devices (printers, scanners, monitors).
- Administer Active Directory, and relevant SaaS applications to support end-users.
- Provide basic and essential ERP system support for staff members.
- Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.
- Possesses the ability to see patterns in issues and develop solutions that solve long-term problems.
- Work closely with colleagues, developers, testers, and a variety of end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
- Manage projects such as group policy improvements, mass software deployments, and new software installs needed to support the business.
- Escalate and advise the Management of Information Technology of any process improvements or needs for the support team.
Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer technology is desirable but not required and can be substituted with 4+ years of relevant technical experience.
- Industry related certifications including Microsoft, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Server+, etc.
- Knowledge of various technologies, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, firewall concepts, VPN, disaster recovery concepts, SMTP, and wireless access points.
- 3+ years of experience in help desk support.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including skills with Word, Excel and Outlook are necessary.
- Knowledge of multiple platforms of technology-based systems such as Microsoft Windows and Windows Server.
- Understanding of backup & restore methods and computer image deployment.
- Ability to learn and adopt new concepts and technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service and oral and written communication skills.
- Maintaining confidentiality, treating others with respect and upholding Company values are key attributes.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.
