JOB TITLE: Sylvan Learning Center Teacher/ Substitute teachers encouraged to apply!

DIVISION: Learning Center

REPORTS TO: Director of Education or Lead Teacher

The Sylvan Teacher is responsible for creating a positive personal learning experience for students by teaching students using Sylvan program materials. This is the perfect postioin for those that love to "Teach"! Lessons plans already created for you, conferences with parents are done by Center Director. Leaving you able to do what you love "Teach"!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Greets students with a Smile. Engage with students throughout the session

· Instructs students according to the design of the Sylvan programs

· Manages students, tasks and time to create a balanced and robust instructional session

· Uses praise and encouragement with Sylvan Tokens to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn

· Manages the conclusion of each instructional session and manages the completion of learning log and transition activities; Supports procedures to ensure student safety and well-being

· Communicates specific student needs to Center staff if needed

· Attends periodic staff meetings and completes ongoing training as needed

· Completes certification training on each Sylvan program taught to students

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Have a Teaching degree, a 4 yr. degree or working towards a 4 yr. degree- Great opportunity for Substitute teachers.

· Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible

· Strong problem solving and customer service skills

· Strong team player

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
